R&A Bread Bakers was born out of the need to occupy our days spent at home due to the pandemic. After time spent on all the new quarantine trends (ie: whipped coffees and painting by number) one thing seemed to stick, caring for our sourdough starter. In the beginning, we were gifted some sourdough starter from a friend and were amazed when our first bread was a success. Since we did not know anything about starter we mistakingly threw it out, instead of feeding it. After some research, we decided to create our own. From then on we were baking… we started making boules and then bagels. We learned from our mistakes and made some of those mistakes into bagel “nots.” This journey has been a real lifesaver during this unprecedented time. It has opened our kitchen to other families and has given us a sense of purpose. We know that in the end, it’s simply flour and water, but we believe we have created something special to share with all of you.
Now we offer an array of sourdough baked goods including kettle-boiled bagels, artisan boules, our signature sweet bagel “nots” and our hand rolled flatbreads. Add our hand-sliced nova lox and craft schmears to round out a delicious meal. We hope you enjoy your goods!!
